The only exceptions to the letter sent to employees are:
- When STUDENTS return from travel to the above risk areas, they must contact Sherrie Cheryba at HealthWorks, 434-200-6939

Information continues to emerge and develop around Coronavirus (COVID-19) and your safety as well as the safety of our community is our top priority. We have established a Coronavirus task force that is meeting regularly to assess the situation, how Centra will respond and above all, making sure we are prepared.
All information, including any messages you might have missed, is currently posted under the coronavirus top story on Centra People. IT is developing a site specifically for coronavirus communications coming early next week.
As of this morning, there are no confirmed cases in our state. However, to ensure we are doing all we can to prevent while we prepare, we are instituting a caregiver “furlough” around returning to work after travel to medium or high-risk areas (Zones 2 and 3) for coronavirus. This protocol is effective immediately and is consistent with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines concerning travel inside and outside the United States.
Details of what is required before and after travel is outlined in the attachment provided. If you have additional questions, please check with your leader or connect with Employee Care Services at the hospital location nearest you or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

What is a travel furlough?
A travel furlough is a leave of absence following travel to, in or through a medium or high-risk areas (Zones 2 and 3) for coronavirus as defined by the CDC (follow this link for a current list).
Why do we have it?
The safety of our caregivers and our community is our highest priority! We are unique in our profession in caring for those in our community. We often have extensive and close contact with vulnerable individuals as we care for them. We want to be a conservative approach by working to prevent transmission while preparing for the potential arrival of coronavirus in our community.
How long is the travel furlough?
The furlough, or leave of absence, beginning the day of your return, will last 14 consecutive days. This is the incubation period for the virus as defined by the CDC. If you remain symptomless in those 14 days, while following the protocol guidelines attached, you may return to work.
Who does this affect?
Anyone who has traveled to, in or through medium or high-risk areas since February 17th (14 days ago). This also pertains to people who are currently traveling in those areas or who will be traveling in those areas. This remains in effect until further notice. If any of these scenarios apply to you, please let your leader know immediately and follow the protocol laid out in the attachment.
If you are unsure of whether travel furlough applies to you OR you have questions about future situations or travel, please reach out to your leader or your HR business partner. The best practice is to err on the side of caution when in doubt.
Will I be paid?
IIf you are a Centra Employee you can choose to take the furlough paid or unpaid. If you choose paid furlough, you can use available PTO.
Thank you for your support as we walk through this together! You are our most valuable asset, and we are committed to caring for you as you care for others!
