Summer PN Students and RN-to-BSN Students:
Beginning on June 15, 2020, many clinical locations will resume accepting students for clinical placements. The Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Virginia is requiring that all students execute an Acknowledgment of Risk (“AOR”) form before they are placed in a clinical setting. Accordingly, Centra College is requesting students seeking clinical placement to sign the attached AOR. Students that are uncomfortable with clinical placement during this time, or are uncomfortable signing the AOR, have the option to postpone clinical placement without academic penalty, but are required to complete clinical placement(s) before graduation or progression within the academic program. For example, if you decide to complete clinical at a later time for NUR 125 or NUR 126, you would complete all course work now and return to clinical in the spring 2021. If you are in NUR 135 and NUR 136, you would complete the course work now and return in the fall 2020 to complete the clinical. Students who would like to postpone clinical placement should contact me or Student Services to discuss next steps.
