Good afternoon students,
The college administration has been tracking the COVID-19 cases in Lynchburg, Virginia and surrounding areas. After reviewing the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and Centra Health data, we have decided to have classes online. We will reevaluate this mid-semester and continue online if the data continues to report increase cases of COVID-19 in the area. Please note that lab, simulation and clinical will continue to be in person instruction.
Please be sure to sign the Acknowledgement of Risk Form to be able to perform clinical. If this form is not signed you cannot attend clinical but can defer to the next time the course is offered. In addition, as instructed with your first orientation at the college, all forms (background check, drug screening, immunizations, CPR, ehealth and Cerner modules) must be done before August 24, 2020. The checklist for these items is on Moodle in the announcement section if you need the checklist.
On campus orientation will be on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please bring your iPad with you to orientation so you can access Kaplan and Elsevier software when the training is available to you. The QR Code is located on the Moodle home page, you can scan and complete before entering the college at the orientation to reduce wait times at check-in at the doors.
