Good Afternoon,

Welcome to fall semester!  As most of you know the return of the school year has brought with it an increase of COVID-19 cases locally. As students of Centra College we need you to be aware of what to do if you or your family begin to feel ill during these times.

First of all if you believe you may have symptoms of COVID-19 check the Virginia Department of Health Symptom checker at this link :  https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/coronavirus/what-to-do-if-you-have-confirmed-or-suspected-coronavirus-disease-covid-19/#covid-symptoms

If your symptoms are consistent with those on the symptom checker, please contact me (Mrs. Burnette -Student Health Nurse), Dr. Puckett, and Sherrie Cheryba our Health Works Liaison from Centra. Based upon your symptoms, test results etc. you will be instructed on how to proceed. It is vital you follow these steps or your absences from class/clinical will NOT be excused. Once furloughed you may NOT return to in person class or clinical without clearance from Ms. Cheryba.

If you have been exposed or someone in your home is quarantined, please make us aware of your situation and you will be directed on how to proceed. In the case that you recieve an exposure notification from Dr. Puckett you do not need to quarantine unless you develop symptoms.

Also, if you are going to be absent from class or clinical please make sure that you communicate with EACH faculty member from your courses.
