Coral Reef Ecology introduces students to the ecological systems and principles of the coral reef environments of the new-world tropics as a primary example.  Students conduct independent projects in the field and report on their results in a variety of formats.  We emphasize identification of tropical biota, ecological interactions within tropical communities, and human impacts on tropical ecosystems.  We will also discuss the natural and cultural history of Belize, where our field sites are located.
